AR v LB, Match 12: Lahore Badshahs beat Ahmedabad Rockets by 31 runs

After two consecutive losses, the Lahore Badshahs won their first tie in the Indian Cricket League (ICL) Twenty20 Championship by 31 runs against hosts Ahmedabad Rockets at Hyderabad.
Badshahs were playing the match without Inzamam Ul Haq and Azhar Mahmood was leading the side in his absence.
After being put to bat by Rockets, who won the toss and elected to field, Badshahs could score a modest 136 for nine wickets in allotted 20 overs.
Earlier, Badshahs put to bat by the Rockets, got off well but lost the momentum after Imran Farhat (18) got out in the third over.
By the fifth over, the spectators saw some brilliant cricket from both sides and the Badshahs were showing their aggressive side placed at 47/1, scoring at a rate of nearly 10 runs per over.
Just when the Badshahs were firing all cylinders, the young spinner Sumit Kalia got the Rockets back in the match, foxing Rana Naved for 15 when the Badshahs' score was 62.
Khalid Mahmood (27), the highest scorer for Badshahs' was hit wicket on the ball of Parvez Aziz in the 17th over. The tailenders could not contribute much to the scoreboard and the team was bundled up for only 136 for nine in the allotted 20 overs.
For the Rockets, Aziz and Kalia got three wickets each while Bhima Roa got two.
