Aided by Imran Farhat’s hurricane 38-ball 65 and some lusty hitting by Azhar Mahmood lower down the order, Lahore Badshahs overcame a middle-order hiccup to beat Hyderabad Heroes by 4 wickets in the first of three ICL Season 2 finals.
Chasing a target of 171 set by Hyderabad, the Badshahs romped home with five balls remaining to boost their chances of winning this season’s title. Naved-ul Hasan also picked up three wickets as Abdul Razzaq’s 46-ball 69 went in vain for Hyderabad. Earlier, Razzaq shone with the bat and Jimmy Maher fell short of a half century by five runs as Hyderabad Heroes notched up 170/5 wickets off their 20 overs at an overflowing Sardar Patel stadium here. Razzaq hammered 69 and Maher 45. Hyderabad had won the title the last time, triumphing 2-0 in the finals against the same opponents.
